Mechanical Engineering

Lesson #2 of the Summer Session

In this lesson of STEM the Gap, we'll learn about the engineering design process behind the machines and devices you use in your everyday life. Then, we'll experiment with simple machines and engineering our own creations to take home!

Our Mission

STEM the Gap is a student-led nonprofit dedicated to empowering young girls to explore science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on learning and real-world problem solving.

 

Founded by members of the PRHS Society of Women Engineers, our mission is to bridge opportunity gaps in STEM by building confidence, sparking creativity, and inspiring a lifelong passion for innovation. We offer free Saturday STEM classes for girls in grades 3–5, designed to make learning exciting, approachable, and fun.
